Flow Bar Kits ...... Just Add Glass!!
With this kit it is easy to make your own intricate Flow
Bars. Just coat the interior with Fuse Master Shelf Primer, stack some strips
of glass on the stainless steel rods and fire in the kiln. As the glass softens
and flows over the rods into the container below, the pattern swirls and moves
creating unique designs that can be consistent throughout the length of the
finished glass bar. The results are beautiful and breathtaking glass pattern
bars that can be sliced on a diamond saw to reveal their inner design.
The Basic kit includes 2 – pre-drilled soft brick end pieces
2 7/8" wide , 2- stainless steel rods, 2 – fiberboard walls, instructions
and firing schedules. This kit is for smaller kilns. The rods and walls are 12”
If you have a bigger kiln you may want the 24” long kit. The
longer the bar, the more slices you will have to work with.
FLOBAR12 - $39.95 – Designed for smaller kilns, the
rods and walls are 12” long so the minimum kiln shelf size is 6” x 13” it will
work on a 13” round shelf or in a square kiln like the Studio Pro 14 or Fire Box 14.
FLOBAR24 – $ 49.95 - If you have a larger kiln the 24”
long rods and walls are the way to go. You can fit several of these in an oval
kiln like the Skutt GM1414 or the Evenheat GM-2541.
The sides need to be supported or they will fall over. We
suggest the you use two kiln post at least 1 5/8” x 1 5/8” x 5” on each side to
hold up the walls. If you don’t already have large enough kiln posts, order
them now. These 5” long kiln posts are just $7.20 each.
It is important the container part of this set up be coated
with a high quality Shelf Primer. We recommend Fuse Master Shelf Primer. A
12 ounce bag is only $9.95.
A diamond saw is ideal for cutting your Flow Bars. Here is a
great deal on a quality Gryphon Diamond Slicer only $499.95.
