BRING YOUR OWN GLASS 90 or 96. We have kept the price low because some people prefer 90 and some prefer 96. We will use different kilns for each. The projects don't care. These techniques work with any glass. If you want us to provide the glass, please add $150 to the class fee.

3 Day Class

7 hours each day

Skill Level: experienced to Intermediate

In this fun and exciting three-day class students will create two (10”-12”) glassterpieces.

The first day will feature the Morton Portable Glass Shop. The Morton System is the ultimate tool for producing accurate and repetitive glass pieces. Students will learn how to set up the MPGS for cutting strips, squares, triangles, and diamonds. Experienced glass artists all agree you will benefit greatly by understanding all the MPGS has to offer. Hands-on cutting and demonstrations will strengthen your Morton skills. The first piece made in class will be a geometric piece to use your new Morton skills to the max.

Day two will focus on creating embellished glass pieces. Designs will be imprinted on the surface of your glass with the Stamping on Glass and fossil vitra techniques. Attendees will learn how to apply graphic images onto glass using powdered enamels, Stamping Medium and rubber stamps. This class will cover the proper techniques for mixing enamels and transferring from the rubber stamp onto the glass. Students will create multiple stamped pieces and fossil vitra pieces that will be fired and incorporated into their class project (10-12” mosaic style bowl that will be full fused and slumped) and/or future projects. Information on using low and high fire enamels and firing schedules will be discussed in class. Whether used in jewelry, mosaic pieces, stained glass or large fused pieces, Stamping on Glass will add a unique beauty to your projects.

Day three will focus on final assembly of class projects and any review of techniques required.

Students need to bring: Glass cutter, safety glasses, running pliers, miscellaneous other favorite hand tools, apron and a NIOSH 95 approved

particulate mask (for use with powdered enamels and micas), pen and paper for notetaking.

This class is ideal for glass fusers as well as stained glass artists.
