Victory Brown Casting Wax
Click to ExpandVictory Brown is a microcrystalline petroleum-based wax that is actually less crystalline then paraffin wax. At room temperature it is a medium hard wax that in block form can be carved and even buffed. In thin sheets it remains flexible at low temperatures and can be molded by hand. Victory Brown has a slab melt point of 175° F (79° C). This wax is flammable. When melting wax, always use a double boiler or special Wax Melting Pot to avoid fires. Replenish the water often.





One method of application is to:

  • Make a Master Model out of Polyform Clay
  • Cast the Master Model in RTV Silicone
  • Pour the Victory Brown Wax into the Silicone mold
  • Remove the wax and cast refractory plaster over the wax form
  • Steam out the wax
  • Fill the refractory plaster form with crushed glass
  • Pop into the kiln and bake at 1450 for 3 hours. anneal to taste.
