MR-97 Boron Nitride Mold Release MR-97 is a protective material used to prevent glass from sticking to slumping and bending molds at elevated temperatures. An alternative to spraying shelf primer onto a hot mold, MR-97 Boron Nitride forms a durable layer that will last for many firings. Easy to use, simply spray this aerosol release onto a room temperature mold (wear a dust mask and spray outside only please). To date this is the best release agent we have found for preparing metal or ceramic molds for slumping and bending.
This 13-ounce container will prime about 20 medium molds. You may need to touch up the areas where the glass touches the mold after 4 or 5 firings. It works best if you never fire it above 1350F or 730C. Try it, it's unbelievable.
