Liquid Stringer Medium

Enjoy the freedom of being able to draw with glass. Liquid Stringer Medium is a unique gel that you can mix with powdered frits or enamels so they can be applied with a squeeze bottle or cake decorator. Anything you can draw, be it words, faces, geometric patterns or free form lines can all made in fused glass. When mixed to the proper consistency, your lines will have the round dimensional quality of a glass stringer. Mixing thinner for cold combing or to float areas of color. Mix thick to make a clay out of glass. Easy to use, this medium burns out clean when fired. We offer 3 sizes; 8 oz. - 32 oz. - Gallon. The larger the size the less expensive.

Better than CMC November 29, 2011

I thought I would save money and try making my own stringer medium using CMC. What a joke. Getting the CMC into solution was a sticky mess, the mixture with the frit got hard overnight and I had to throw away all of that frit and it didn’t burn clean in the kiln. Instead it left a gray residue. I’m sticking with Liquid Stringer Medium. It works so much better and actually saves money in the long run.
