Stringer Medium is an exciting agent that when mixed with fine glass frits,
powders or enamels, produces a formable glass paste that can be sculpted at
room temperature. This paste can be applied with a squeeze bottle to draw
stringer type lines of glass or mixed thick to form three dimensional cabochons
without having to make molds. Thin the mixture slightly and you can “Cold Comb”
colored glass at room temperature. When fired the glass has a shiny gloss
surface unlike the matt finish of mold cast glass objects. This fast paced
hands-on class will show you how different mixes can be used for a variety of
unique kiln applications. Also covered
are firing schedules and how to use time / temperature quotients to achieve
specific results. Don’t miss this information packed session. Class is limited
to 10 students.
